Channeling through Ellaeenah:
Laughter and joy of Meher Baba.
Meher Baba is here in full… , I can see him in a full regalia; he is dressed almost like a king and as usual, he is giggling. He asks you to become four years old again. Each and every one, put your finger tips together and he asks all of us to sing ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’. (The sitters sang the nursery rhyme with much glee and enjoyment).
Which one of us did not believe we were four years old again? None of us are four; some of us are even older than forty, and for one minute we believed, completely, that we were four. This is BELIEF. And yet, in that word ‘belief’, lies another significant word: L-I-E. Would you say we all lied just now, a minute ago when we were four years old? From the physical point of view, did we not lie? And yet, did that feel untrue to you? If we had continued singing that song for another few minutes, there would have been a bubble of joy-like laughter that would have come up; it had come up for so many already, in just 2 renditions of ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’. Literally, a bubble of joy and comes up and bursts, releasing its effervescence. And yet, it was a lie. You and I are not four years old. But why did it not seem untrue? Because you believed. You ‘BE’ the ‘LIE’.
This is belief: believing in that, which seems physically, to you, a lie. And now, if I were to ask you, not to be four years old, but to be God, would you be able to do that: that same firm, bubbly, joyous belief? Not one! Not one! Because that lie seems too big. How can you then be anything other than what you are at present? Because anything larger than that is a lie too big for you to handle. But Baba wishes to ask what is your definition of a lie? What is your truth which you would be going against by believing that when you said I am God, it was too big a lie? But if I asked you, now again, to believe that you are human beings, with frailties and weaknesses, with negativities, you would believe that completely, and in fact, not even accept it as a lie. And yet, Baba says it is that ‘truth’ which is really the lie and the ‘lie’ which is too big for you to accept is TRUTH.
Lie is the illusion. Whenever there is an illusion which you believe in, the truth behind the illusion becomes the lie. So when someone comes up to you and utters words, which you instantly judge as a lie, you are accepting those illusions of the words as the truth, which has been moved away from, and the truth behind those words have been lost to you because of the judgment of lie that you have passed. And you do this with others because you do this with yourself.
He wants you now to turn to your partner… so decide who you are going to partner with…. and you will state one statement that is the truth and one that is a lie. And your partner will have to decipher the lie behind the truth, and the truth behind the lie. And then the partner will say the statements and you will decipher the lie and the truth. All you need is 2 minutes for this. (All the sitters did this exercise). Please understand that no statement made here is a random one, so be very, very careful to decipher the energy behind that statement.
Did you have fun?
Yes.
Then why do you not have this fun when others speak to you, on a day-to-day basis? N, when S spoke her lie, did you judge her?
No.
And yet, how critical you are when others speak lies to you. And what is the difference? N, S spoke a lie to you; why did you not judge her?
It was a game.
That is the full truth with no lie behind. You considered it only a game and who judges a game? A game is to have fun with, to trick him with, to enjoy his confusion, to, in fact, even make it worse. See how joyous you all are by hearing the lies of others? Such a sense of child-like delight has emanated into each one’s energy. By what? By the lies. Because even in the truth, N, you had to decipher her lie. And there was not a moment of judgment passed by anyone. Some of you could not decipher the truth and lies behind the statements, and you still didn’t judge yourself. You just said, "I’d rather sing ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’ than do this." (Laughter)
You didn’t judge yourself as small, as inadequate; you just had FUN. This is a game. You play games with everyone but, very often, while playing the game, you become the player and the referee, and no player can be an honest referee, and no honest referee can also be a player. You have to choose for yourself, moment-to-moment what your role in that game is, and if your role is that of a player, and if your opponent should trick you and make you fall, you still get up; you might complain to the referee, but it’s still a game.
Do you, at present, have any resentment against D for trying to trick you, for confusing you, for being so joyous by the fact that she’s got one up on you right now?
No
And yet, were she to do this in a life situation, wouldn’t you be resentful?
Yes
If only you can believe that everything is a game, a moment of pure and sheer delight, there would be not a single further moment of anger or resentment, and that child-like delight, which would fill your energy grids with its effervescence, would literally sometimes give you the feeling of being levitated. A sadhu, a yogi who practices levitation knows that the moment he gives up serious attempt, he will levitate. You have to stop being so serious, stop trying so hard. Believe that you are a four year old.
‘Twinkle, twinkle, little star. How I wonder what you are?’ There is a sense of awe and wonder and discovery; not a sense of I am so stupid, I don’t even know what you are. ‘Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky’. Little star, though you are so far away from me, you emanate all your radiance and brilliance to me, drawing me ever closer to you. ‘How I wonder what you are?’ And the four year old will never know this answer. That is why the rhyme doesn’t give you the reply. You are not to know what the star is; the joy, the delights lie in your moments of discovery, and every time you discover something new about the star, that ‘wicked little star’ will uncover another hidden facet and shine even brighter as it confuses you. (laughter)
Look into the eyes of a child and you see only pure delight. A bar of chocolate is one to clap your hands in glee over. A tub of ice cream: something to rub your face in, so that it’s filled with its creamy coolness. A bowl of noodles: something joyous to dip your fingers in and have one noodle one by one, upon your clothes rather than in your mouth. And at that time, comes the adult and makes, nay, forces the child to believe that the child is dirty, without table manners. Is this the way to eat? And within the child’s heart, there is a shout of delight, "Yes! This is the way to eat." But the delight and sparkle in his eyes die as soon as he looks into the adult’s face, and the child knows the only answer the adult will accept is, "Sorry. I am wrong." And one belief is replaced by another belief. And then, which belief is the truth and which, the lie?
By your world, your conditioning, your manners, the second statement is the truth and the lie behind that second statement lies in the words, "I AM". Every time the delight in the child’s eyes fade and covered by I am wrong, the effervescence of the energy structure dies down. And then when the child is four0, he goes to a psychologist who helps him to become four years old again!!
So what is the belief that you hold in your heart? Are you truly the wonder-filled four year old or are you the adult, weighed down by your problems, your struggles, your attempts, your endeavors? And the ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’ takes on a completely different belief and the adult states, ‘Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are? Up so high above the world you are, like a diamond in the sky: unattainable and always far.’ (Meher Baba recited it this time with great despondency in his voice) Where did the delight in this rhyme die? Which belief killed it?
But that is not important. What is important is: which belief can bring it back? And you have just done it. You did it for yourselves. You were four years old and in full joyous delight, without feeling any shame, any guilt, joyously you sang out the lie. You didn’t care that another judged you. You didn’t bother that you didn’t have a good enough voice to sing. You had no inhibitions about someone considering you foolish. You did it. And that is how you bring back that effervescence. That is how you bring back that delight.
Your children are your teachers and they teach you through their eyes. Look into the eyes of your young teacher. See when the sparkle of joy is brightest and do exactly what the teacher has just done, even if it means rubbing your face in that bowl of ice cream. Let your inhibitions fall. Let your conditioning disappear. They are the ‘truths’ you have believed in; now decipher the lie behind them. And as your child plays in that dirty mud, kicking off his shoes and sandals, feeling the dirt between his toes and screaming in delight, with an earthworm struggling in his fingers, become that child again. Follow the child’s every move. Take off your well shone shoes and dip into that muddy, dirty, worm-filled pool. Let that earthworm crawl upon you, screaming in delight, with your child. Go to every single children’s movie and laugh out loud.
How many of us, when we accompany our children, sit back and smile, while the theater is going crazy with the screams of children? Why do you not add your scream to their’s? If you did that, your child will stop watching the movie and turn around to you with a look of sheer joy.
Baba instructs that for the next 8 weeks, no one is to read a spiritual book, a religious book, any book of knowledge, of truth. The only books you are permitted are children’s books and that too, books of children below the age of eight. Read them, enjoy them. As the little teddy bear falls down from that tree, feel the pain of your child. And as the fireman comes and picks up the teddy bear, and the teddy bear does a little jig, stand up and do the jig along with the teddy bear. Yes! The teddy bear is saved. Yes! The teddy bear is saved. Yes! The teddy bear is saved. And every time you read the same story to your child, the child feels the same pang when the teddy bear falls and the same delight when the teddy bear is saved. He doesn’t sit in judgment and say, "Oh, I know on Pg. 6 he will now be rescued!!" Nor does he wisely say, "The teddy bear fell because he was meant to!!" Sometimes, your knowledge makes you less of a child rather than more, because when you are in pain or when someone else is in pain, instead of allowing your heart to open, you will place a layer of ‘wisdom’ upon it and state, "This is how it was meant to be." Ah! That is the truth. But what is the lie behind it? The lie behind it is the unspoken grief. When the child falls and scrapes his knee, he screams in anger or wails in pain because, by Divine Grace, the child does not have the wisdom to state, "I fell because I was meant to fall."
Why do you use your knowledge thus to take away from you the four year old? Knowledge is meant to bring you closer to the four year old. You use that knowledge, very often, to put greater veils and walls between you and the four year old. It is time to allow the four year old to come forth. Forget that you are this well-known, respected businessman, lawyer, doctor, teacher, counsellor, guide. These labels stop you from being ‘child’ because then you have to BE that businessman because you believe that you are. And of course, you are that businessman too. But define that label; now define it from the point of view of the child. Ask a four year old "Who is a businessman and what is his task?" And he might ponder on it a little, and then tell you, "To become rich!!" "And why does the businessman want to be rich?" you question further. And the child will look at you in complete surprise that you did not know this simple answer and says, "To be happy." That’s a businessman. But are you that businessman? Are you a businessman who is attempting to be rich, to be rich?
Where is the joy? If, in your present task, you can find no delight, leave the task. It is taking you away from your purpose to be. Even if the task brings in thousands and thousands of rupees a day, it takes you away from your purpose to be when there is no delight. When each night, when your head touches the pillow, you lie awake, in fear and anxiety, in stress and strain, then that is not your purpose to be.
You all ask what is my soul’s purpose? And we tell you that that question is secondary. It is not of primary focus as you have made it. The question, the purpose that is primary, is the Spirit’s purpose to be in joy, to be in delight. It is only when there is delight that the secondary purpose can be met; otherwise it will stay a distant dream, like a diamond in the sky.
So for the next several weeks, sing nursery rhymes. No bhajans, no gazals, no hymns, no sorrowful love songs, just ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’. You laugh, but we issue you a challenge. Meet as a group, however small or big you wish it to be, and listen to and sing along with, half an hour of nursery rhymes. After that half an hour, the rest of your day will be spent in complete lightheartedness. If you want to better the experience, even dress up as a child: in little shorts, bow shoes, tie your hair into pretty ponytails.
Why not have a party where you all dress up as the four year old that you are within? Do that. Arrange a group party which each one can attend only if they dress up as the four year old within. Go shopping for little bows and baubles; enjoy the experience. We ask you to do this, seems to be foolish, because the physical environment that you create will be catalyzing the child to be revealed, to be alive again, in all its effervescent delight.
And then no food to be eaten that is approved by ‘adults’. What would the four year old want at the party? Certainly not a healthy diet. That is the adult, Nina, forcing the four year old to say why not. Which four year old is even concerned about health? And why should the four year old be concerned about health? The child knows that in its delight is his health, not in its food.
Do you sincerely think that your fat-free, low cholesterol diet is making you healthy? If that were true, not one of you would be underweight or overweight. Throw your diets out of the window. They don’t work at all. They don’t work at all. If a diet worked, you would never put on the weight again. It does not work. Throw it out. For the next 2 months, joyously eat all that you wish to eat, but eat it in JOY …..and yes, Sheila, you will put on weight because right now, you have believed that you will put on weight.
Do not meditate. Go out and buy your chocolate éclair. Give yourself 2 months of this, if you can. After 2 months you’ll see a completely changed person. Then all the wisdom that we have revealed to you, for all these years, will finally come alive, in a healthy delightful manner. Be four year old again. Come on, loudly sing ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’. (All sang ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Sar and Baa Baa Black Sheep)
Have fun. Have fun. That is the only way Baba knows to grow.
Divyaa:
Greetings! I’m going to speak on BEAUTY that was channeled last Sunday. It has been with me the whole week, permeating my meditations. So much is coming up; so much has been expressed to me, which I’d like to share with you. But beauty is beyond words and I’m not finding the words, so I’m going to link and yet speak as Divyaa so that I can speak more intuitively.
Greetings! Greetings from the energies of beauty, once again. For those who require a name, a form, an identity, I hold the energies of, whom you may call, Tripura Sundari. I’m going to speak as Divyaa, linked to her or anchored in that field of energy. Even as I speak, for those who require a visual, it is like a lotus, unfurling infinitely behind me, around me, in me; beautiful colours, a silver and gold star and the center of this flower, lotus is rising, like a Shiva ling and from out of this, arises and floats a bubble, a pearl, translucent, rising and rising. This is how I am being asked to describe the energy of, whom you call, Tripura Sundari: beauty herself.
I request that you absorb this channeling intuitively because we wish to speak on beauty, the wordless, where words can’t cope. I am being shown an abstract art and what we are really doing is trying to explain this abstract art. Yes, we can use words; we can describe the triangles and colours but if you limit yourself to words, if you do not allow the words to take you beyond the words, you will not get the splendour of the painting. Therefore, once again, we ask you to conjure, experience that which you call beauty. Once again, conjure an object, a landscape, a trigger point but this time, of great beauty, majestic beauty, beauty in its highest potential and become aware of that, which beauty is, become consciously aware, acutely aware, minutely aware.
Within you, recognize that wordless, which you call beauty. Recognize it so that you may have a reference point within you to fit our words to. If you have done that, if you have observed beauty, you will know that beauty is not of the object, it is not even the experience of that which is beautiful, it is not even the sensations of joy and peace and awe and wonder that you first identify with as beauty because the moment you become aware of all these: the object, the experience, the sensation you, so to say, bypass them, you cross them, you go beyond them into that wordless. Only because we’re trying to give words to that wordless descriptionless, experienceless you will understand the Vedic concept of neti, neti: not this, not this. THAT! THAT BEAUTY! And that wordless is what we give the word beauty to; that descriptionless is what we describe as the concept, the gamut of beauty.
I’m going to deviate a bit here because it is important for us to understand that when we give labels, when we give adjectives, we define an object. It is not the object itself I can call chocolate sweet and sweet helps me to understand chocolate but sweet and chocolate are 2 different realities and when we give a word, a term, an adjective to describe the intangible, it becomes more complex. I am calling beauty formless but by saying formless, I am giving it the form of being formless; by saying it is descriptionless, qualityless, I’m giving it the quality of being descriptionless. We require this because it is our mind that is hearing; our mind requires this and therefore, to really reach, enter, I would say touch. But you cannot touch the intangible. To enter that, you need to leave behind the mind, the words. Use words only as far as they can go.
I will remain silent, once again, so that you may conjure beauty. Now know that is what humanity calls beauty; beauty is that. I AM That. Beauty. Glory being itself. Glory. Glory is the new word I’m getting; the higher aspect of beauty, the hallowed aspect of beauty because we have made beauty mundane, in our thoughts. Glory, glory, glory hallelujah is playing all around me. Glory, glory hallelujah. Glory, glory hallelujah.
The Masters have often told us that words will come to us as we are ready to understand concepts and today, we are going to reveal to you a word for that, the void; not that the reflection for which we have so many words: pure consciousness, love, creativity but that, the void is beauty. Yes, all of you are surprised, including this child through whom we speak. It sounds too simple, beauty. But yes, beauty, glory.
Play with this. That is why you have been told to play; play with this concept of beauty; experience beauty, conjure beauty and you will understand why the void is beauty, hallowed, glory. Your poets understood it. They have told you beauty is truth and truth is beauty. Your Master has said that all that has a name I have created for my glory. Jesus, Jade Fire, the Father’s prayer, the Lord’s Prayer to describe that the Father ‘hallowed be thy name’. That is why, hymn after hymn when it does not know what to say or what to do and what to describe, it says, ‘Glory! Glory hallelujah.’
Because I have been speaking constantly, most of you will not have touched beauty core. Sit in front of a landscape, an object, a trigger point and experience what I am saying; experience beauty, experience that and you will know what that is is only what you call beauty. And that is why this whole speak of beauty itself is accessed in the heart, never in the eyes or in the brain but in the heart because if you have understood what we are saying, if you do what we are saying and go and experience beauty, you will understand, you will actually allow that to reflect in the pure consciousness of your mirror or the mirror of pure consciousness. That is why the heart chakra; because pure consciousness enters the physical body, in the heart chakra. The mirror where you can reflect void, beauty, glory, hallowed be thy name.
I am going to try and describe something: void, beauty, glory, that is what I or is that I, in linear terms, become aware off and in awareness is vitality, will, to be. That is why awareness is vitality, life force, Ray 1 and that is why it is not love, which is Ray 1 and awareness is Immaculate Conception, vitality, life force and in this, again, only because I need to speak in linear terms because otherwise, it is simultaneous. In this awareness, in this vitality, rises what you call the force of love. The force of love is that glory beholding itself, awareness of itself. What rises? Love but love. It is every aspect, every nuance beholding, becoming aware, coming alive, every aspect, every nuance of my glory, my beauty.
Is that not what love is? Do you not feel love? Do you not fall in love? That is the force of love, that is why energy is the Law of Attraction, Universal Law of attraction; energy is the material counterpart of pure consciousness, which is the force of love, attraction of All That I AM. And of course, this is self-love. All of us wonder what is self-love? Self-love is awareness of beauty of That I AM; not awareness of my will, not awareness of my power, not awareness of my love, not awareness of my creativity; awareness of That I AM in this Now. Self-love. And in this awareness and love, which we call pure consciousness, which is Shiva Shakti, is inherently Divine wisdom, Divine intelligence. To infinitely and infinitesimally be. Existence is homage to the beauty and glory that I am. Existence is beauty, glory, being itself.
So much is coming but when I’m in a meditative state, it can all happen simultaneously. Because I’m speaking, I need to catch one thread so I am going to use the thread where I am being shown a diamond. A diamond is the most beautiful object known to man. It is the symbol of ultimate beauty, colourless, clarity. It is a symbol of That. That is why it is known as the hardest substance; nothing can affect That. That is why it is the Kohinoor held in the serpents eye. What is serpentine energy but Shiva Shakti, awareness, love, experiencing Kohinoor diamond, glory? That is why a diamond is your ultimate symbol of beauty 7 in the esoteric circles, those who work with energy will know that it is the symbol of the God self, the diamond cell is That. And that is why, musk because beauty is there in every sense, all the 5 senses; musk that the deer chases after. Beauty cannot find. It is That. Holy Grail, which leads to nowhere is That. The bells, the conch is That. Even as I speak, the energies of, whom you call, Krishna are here. Yes. Krishna: pure consciousness. Jade Fire: love and awareness; playing his flute, playing That, beauty, glory. Wordless, wordless, highest vibration of beauty will be accessed through sound, the bell, the conch.
All of you are being asked to close your eyes and view Krishna, in whichever way you choose. The colours here are peacock blue and green and as he plays his flute, he would like you to see a diamond float out, float out and enter you through your crown chakra and see it float in within you and settle, by self, in your heart chakra. Make no effort; by self, in your heart chakra. Feel, be That wordless, unmanifest in the mirror of pure consciousness held in your heart.
Now allow this diamond or willfully take it to your 3rd eye. All of you are already aware; we had spoken about belief. Whatever you see in this 3rd eye within you, is what reflects outside. Perception is an act of creation, beloveds. Plant the diamond there so that you will forever perceive beauty within and therefore, beauty outside. The child’s eye.
And now take it down to your 2nd chakra: sacral. This is the chakra most directly concerned with physical beauty, physical vitality, physical radiance shine. Allow the diamond to penetrate you, your body, your organs, your blood, your cell, your skin, your hair, your physical body , your etheric body, your emotional body, your mental body, your spiritual body. Radiate, radiate the beauty. That. Your own individual, unique beauty. Even as you do this, you will view that the diamond is now present in all the other chakras. It is present in chakra1, root because beauty must be the path back home; it must be enjoyed on the physical realm. You were introduced to the world of the child because of that, not only esoteric beauty of that but beauty in your day to day life.
Make beauty the path back home. If you see beauty, enjoy beauty. You will be the child. You will have higher consciousness in your day to day life. You will actually unite spirit and matter through beauty. So simple! So simple! That is why, so many of you who are poets and artists, who sing, whose work is pre-occupied with beauty, resonate with, what you call higher frequency and have an inherent wisdom. View your poets, view your artists.
Now view this at the solar plexus, diamond and know that that I AM That; not only That, the reflection, not only That pure consciousness, not only That love (..) and creativity but That void, unmanifest, beauty, glory, hallowed be my name. My name. All of you must say Hallowed be my name.
And now take it up to the throat chakra and express ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’. Diamond. Now you’re aware of the diamond, which this child has wondered; now express and be that aspect, that God Self, that manifest, that void has chosen to be, to reflect its glory through you. Do not seek to be him, her, the other. Express your own ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’. And as you are doing this, you will view the daiamond becoming big, larger, larger, larger. It emanates through your body. It encompasses you. You are floating within this diamond. Do not try and determine what the diamond is; just know it is that and you are floating within it. Blend, blend, blend, beloveds. There will be no more you. Let the diamond be, be that.
And now remove the diamond and be only current self. Yes, be current self because that is only through the reflection of who you are. Hallowed be my name. Glory, glory hallelujah. If anyone knows that hymn, sing it. Glory, glory hallelujah.
