TETE – A – TETE WITH GOD   Part 8  27-7-2003

PSW : My dear Friend, for a long while we have not had our friendly Tete-a-Tete. This time why don't You select a subject of discussion for us?

GOD: Today we will discuss the subject of "Meditation". This subject is spoken of by all you dear children with such ease, almost as a day to day happening, without really understanding the true significance and power it connotes. For most of you Meditation means fixing a time, sitting at the chosen place, closing your eyes and trying to control your thoughts as best you can—which is more often than not a futile attempt—then trying to set your mind on a particular word, or object or person. My dear one, this at best can be categorised as concentration or contemplation. To "meditate" is to focus on any particular subject or topic or emotion close to your heart for which you require more answers, more knowledge, more insight. So when you sit with that particular subject in mind, centre  yourself and be one with the silence around you; you will observe, after sometime, without any effort on your part, certain words, phrases and sentences forming themselves in front of your eyes, which will be a clue to the answers and solutions you have been seeking for. To give you an example, say you wish to know the connotation of "Love"— a subject most popular with all, and especially you, my friend, who seeks love all the time, everywhere, and from every source! When you sit with Love uppermost in your mind, seeking the true meaning and insight of this one emotion, you will literally feel after you have completely silenced yourself and drawn away from your surroundings, a surge of uncontrollable feeling so powerful, so encompassing and so pure and beautiful as you have never experienced before. That very moment you will snap out, and with hands extended send up a profound gratitude not only for the incomparable feeling you have just experienced but for the answer and clarification you were seeking for. Note, My friend, you have not concentrated on the word or the emotion of Love, you have gone far beyond and actually experienced the depth and the purity and the divinity of "Love".This is meditation ! To let yourself "just go" as when you are in a dream, and let the answers flow by themselves in whatever form they deem fit. When you concentrate, you are at the surface where most of you are; when you "meditate" you go deep, deep, deep down where you do not know where you are, what you are, till the answers are placed before you or the insight is given to you of what you have been asking for.

There is another side of Meditation, when you may not require answers or solutions, but you will sit by yourself again enfolding yourself with the Silence around you—with no thought or word or topic uppermost in your mind — sail away to far-off horizons, and suddenly there will unfold before you, vistas you have never ever seen before, figures and objects you cannot decipher or recognize but know for sure that they are there, and you will be taken to places so remote and so ancient that you will be awed by their grandeur and vastness ! It is as though you are seeing a movie with slide after slide passing before you, one better than the other. When you have seen it all—all that you are meant to—you will instantly snap out, and there will be a deep remorse in your heart that you were not able to continue and the movie came to an end. This kind of meditation is undertaken by highly evolved souls when they are ready, and for some reason they are shown and taken to sights which they think they have never seen and visited  before ! Now My dear, you may ask, what is the use of all this when you cannot comprehend the meaning and purpose of all that you have been shown. Yes my friend, for quite a while you will feel confused and ask as to why all this was brought before you. But there will come a time, not very far away, when at a particular chosen moment in your life, something will click in your mind and you will immediately bring the "movie" before you and connect the same to that moment, and there the jumbled pieces in your jig-saw puzzle will set themselves in place without any effort on your part, and the whole vista  will once again open before you and you will then know and understand your connection and the part you  played in that "movie".

PSW: My God, my dear friend, what a marvelous, thought-provoking discourse you have given me, for which I am deeply grateful. I feel such a joy just listening to all this ! Will I ever really experience this and receive these beautiful, mystical insights or is it far beyond my reach? I know, God, You will say that this question has come to me because of my lack of self-worth. But no God, it is not lack of self-worth, but as you said before, such meditations only come to highly evolved souls, and I know for sure that I am certainly not that !

GOD: There goes my doubting Thomas ! And  what may I know gives you the authority and permission to pass such a harsh judgement of yourself? Remember, my dear friend, passing judgement is not only not permissible on others but on yourself as well ! You are not only committing a karmic debt on yourself but also stopping your growth. I tell you, very strongly, from this moment you will not pass any judgement on yourself, and believe without a shred of doubt that you can reach and be where you desire to be ! All the effort and work you are putting in, even now, what is it  if not your desire to reach your goal ! Do you think, my child, you would be here this moment with Me, writing this discourse, if you did not have "that" in you of which you are so doubtful? If you treasure our friendship, then as of now, you will just flow with the tide without stopping or doubting if you will flow or drown, and be sure and certain that the tide will take you to the shore where you wish to be, for that tide is Me !

PSW: Thank you, my very beloved friend. You know how precious Your friendship is to me ! I will hold Your hand and let my boat be steered by You, and if ever I feel the roughness  and the harshness of the ocean, I will know that my boat will never capsize as my Captain is by my side !
