Surrender vs Resignation
Sir, could you tell us the difference between surrender and resignation?
When you resign from a job, you have to give a letter, do you not? Who do you
give it to?
The boss.
Are you the ‘boss’?
Okay……I get the point.
When there is a ‘boss’ outside of you, you
resign. When the boss is within, you surrender. There is a joy in surrender;
there is a sense of defeat in resignation. And that, my dear children, is a very
good clue for each one of you, because the question my dear son has asked is
essential. You must understand this. Many sit back and do nothing, because they
say, “I have surrendered.” But, if in that surrender, there is a sense of
‘loss’, of defeat, of regret, of sorrow, you know it is a resignation.
‘Surrender’ can bring only Joy. Because surrender comes only after you have held
that broom well. Only then can surrender come. And such surrender is joyous.
Because for the first time you acknowledge, ‘I am God. And I am His name.’ Do
you understand, my son?
