DEPRESSION, HABITS, MERGING, THOUGHTS
Good evening, children. We would like to continue with depression. The last time only a very brief introduction was made. You were told that depression is caused primarily due to self-indulgence and then this self-indulgence takes control over you and you then have no power over it. You were also told my children, that when the divine self within you is not complete, you go through what is known as depression. You were told the difference between SELF and SELF-ISH. To be not complete in your self is to be self-ish. And when you are not complete in your divine self, the external manifestation of the self becomes supreme and that incomplete self in human form will then show itself to you as what you call selfish. It is very important, my children, to learn the true meanings of words. What you call selfish is only an external manifestation of one whose divine self is incomplete. What can today start as self-indulgence will soon get out of hand and become depression. And for this self-indulgence, thoughts are responsible.
Children, in times past, at the time when you all were born into this human
form, the human race worked through the chakra situated in the solar plexus.
This was the center of the being. It was through this center that the human
being took control, analyzed, intellectualized, and thought. That gave him his
centering. This is because the human race was in its third dimension. With the
shifting of the earth’s axis, the human center also shifted. When the human
race moved on to the 5th dimension, the center moved upwards and now the center
is the heart chakra. The heart chakra is the seat of feeling, emotions, merging
and love. But, though the earth center has moved, as has the human center, you
all are habituated to functioning from this solar plexus center. So you will
still try to analyze, and reason, and you will still make thoughts your master.
So there is a conflict within you.
Love and analysis, love and control cannot co-exist unless they merge. We spoke
that you are habituated to functioning from this (solar plexus)chakra. What are
habits, my children? Can anyone tell me what is a habit?
A: Something your body gets used to.
Ah, my child, but why?
A: Due to past conditioning?
Due to present conditioning, not past. You have already gone through the stage
when the 1st and 2nd charkas were the centers. That past conditioning is no
more. It is the present conditioning of the 3rd center that forms the habit. If
you had left this body before the shift took place and you were born like these
young ones, there would be no conditioning. But your conditioning can harm them
because you force them to recondition themselves to your habits, to your
thinking process.
Now, children, try to follow me. We will be using words and sometimes your words
are so restricted and limited that only a part of the truth can we convey.
Every thought has an energy that it emits. The brain is a center of electricity.
If the electricity of the brain was to be channeled through a wire, and you were
to touch it, you would be instantly disintegrated. So, your thoughts emit an
electrical energy of its own which forms a pathway in the brain. You all know
that energy must flow, and cannot stand still. In order to flow it burns a
pathway. The more often it is repeated, the deeper the pathway is burnt, till it
forms a permanent pattern in your brain. Now think how many patterns you have
burnt in your brain. These patterns manifest externally as habits.
Habits start when you are young. The habits of the child are not his own, but
those of his parents burnt into the brain of the child. You call it manners, you
call it training, you call it discipline, and you call it teaching the child
right from wrong. One human being decides for another human being what is right
and what is wrong. So the pattern that is burnt into the brain of the parent is
burnt into the brain of the child. Remember, my children, if there is some
‘discipline’ that your child refuses to accept, the child is trying to tell
you that ‘I do not wish to burn this pattern into my brain as I instinctively
know that it is wrong for me.’ Think, Parents, how many times have you forced
your decision onto your child, because you did not recognize their individuality
and thought them to be the same as you.
Your habits, at present, come from these thought patterns which are controlled
by this center (pointing to the solar plexus) that wishes to analyze, question,
intellectualize, and constantly think. But the human body, as well the earth,
undergoes constant shifts and changes, so thoughts that you are not habituated
to also come into your mind and conflict with the patterns that have already
been burnt into your brain. When a human being is not internally connected
enough with his higher self, this conflict will be too much for his human body
to accept. This is the opportunity your mind is waiting for. Any manifestation
that you cannot deal with is termed by you as pain. And there is so much
conflict within you that it is not possible to deal with this pain. Thus as the
conflict grows, the pain grows.
The mind is your ‘friend’ and your ‘foe’. It is your ‘friend’
because it helps you to move along the old pathways smoothly, and it is your
‘foe’ because it makes it difficult for you to form new ones. And thus the
pain is collected and lies beneath the surface unexpressed, and then turns into
anger and resentment. This affects all your energy charkas and throws you out of
balance, and brings physical ailments. So, then, what is the next step for the
human being? The human form is so conditioned, and the patterns of pain so
familiar, that the mind accepts and likes to accept the pain. This is the
self-indulgence we spoke of. Ah, but the mind is cunning. It will not permit you
to consciously think ‘I am unhappy, and I am happy that I am unhappy.’ These
are sub-conscious patterns. These are the trick that the mind plays. And the
body gets used to them.
But, when the pain is before you, you should shut yourself
into a cave. Surprised? Am I asking you to leave this world? No. I am asking you
to do an exercise; to shut your eyes and detach yourself from your surroundings
and put yourself into a ‘cave’. There is no way out of this cave. All around
you are the walls of the cave. There is darkness. Before you is a deep pool of
water, so that you can drink and stay alive. In your fear you look around and
see that high up in the ceiling of the cave there is a crack. A thin ray of
light filters through. You begin to analyze that ‘ If I can find my way up, I
may be able to widen that crack, and make an opening that will permit me to
leave the cave.’ So you start clawing your way up the rock walls. Your fingers
bleed, your nails tear, you fall, you get hurt, but you get up again and again
in order to reach that crack. Soon you learn enough to reach quite high up. Then
you look back and you see the pool, and in surprise you see that there is a
brilliant light that you can see deep inside the pool. You then realize that the
exit is not way up there, but deep below. Eagerly you dive into the pool. You
suffocate. You are tired and you thrash about in the water, before you realize
that you do know how to swim. Very easily you swim under and are out in the
fresh air again.
That is your pain. You claw up the walls trying to escape, and attempt to reach
an illusory exit, a goal that is unknown. If you would only look into that pain,
you would see that there, in your pain, lies your freedom. There is no conflict.
There is only freedom from the external self. Yes, you may thrash about in that
pool, and you may feel that you are dying, drowning. But, this is only because
you have forgotten that you do know how to swim, that you have a lifeline…your
connection with the divine. You can come out of this pool that you call pain.
But, there are those who like to float in the pool. The water feels cool and comfortable. It may be getting poisonous, but it still feels cool and comfortable. So you lie back and ‘enjoy’ it. That is the self-indulgence. Then one day this water rises above you, and often drowns you. The water has your energy, your strength; you have used it all by lying in that pool. You have no more energy to use that lifeline that could have saved you. That is why depression so often ends in suicide.
Do not think that those who die with depression throttling them find easy
pathways when they come here. They have to be treated with great care. They have
to be reconditioned because even when they come to our side they are in the
throes of depression. They have to be made to see the pain, and taught to swim
the pool. They have to experience that clawing the walls is of no use. They have
to be made to see that lying in the pool is merely an illusion of comfort. We
have a very large task force of those guides and masters who only practice our
kind of psycho-therapy. Those who come to us with depression have to undergo
this therapeutic process before they reach their plane of evolution that they
left before their last incarnation. That is why we constantly urge you to look
within yourself, find your spots of pain, which may be so deep that you do not
even consciously know of their presence, and deal with them NOW. DON’T WAIT.
Every individual goes through a period of depression because every one has one
common thought pattern etched deep into his or her mind. FEAR. That thought path
arises only out of the 3rd dimension because what you cannot analyze, you fear.
Can you see the internal organs within this child?
A: No, Sir.
Then how do you know that they are present? Because you been taught so. Your
earthly books and teachers tell you so, and of course, they must be correct.
Have you ever felt that this statement was right? Or wrong? This is what belief
is. Thought Patterns. But, if you cannot analyze, intellectualize for yourself
then you condemn or call the person a fool, or merely say ‘this does not
exist’. But if you can analyze it, then it must be right. The next time you
ask of us ‘we saw this, or read this…. is this right or wrong?’ stop….
ask yourself instead. You are the center of your universe. There is no god but
yourself. Yes, there are those who are far more expanded in their light, and
there is the ONE who is the source of all light. But you
are god. When will you acknowledge this?
My son here who is being trained as
a medium wonders whether the words he speaks are his own. This is because the
merging between him and his guide is not yet complete. This is the center that
deals with merging (pointing to the heart center). There is only one word
relevant for the present time and that word is ONE. This child of mine is now
able to access my messages, to a very great degree and when they are brief,
without having to go into a trance. But she finds it difficult to acknowledge
that she and I have merged, because familiar thought patterns of low self esteem
obstruct the new thought patterns that are forming. And why have we merged?
Because she gave me the permission to do so. She invited me into her center so
that her center and mine could merge.
You all must first merge with your higher selves. There is no answer that your
higher self does not know, there is no conflict that your higher self will not
help resolve. But the first step is to merge. The second step is pay heed. Your
higher self will aid you to make new and fresh thought patterns. ARE YOU WILLING
TO DO THIS?
How do you merge? Every minute of every day tell your higher self that you are
open to merging till one day you have formed a new thought pattern which truly
permits you to do so. How will you know that you have merged? Once again your
3rd center will demand proof. Many times when your family speaks or someone has
a problem, have you not found an answer that seems to pop up in your mind? That
is the answer that you have got with the help of your higher self. That is
merging. All of you, in differing degrees have merged.
But some try
too hard. Trying too hard, my child, can sometimes be worse than not trying at
all. When you try too hard you fall into a common trap called DESIRE. You can
have desire for wealth, desire for love, desire for power and you can have a
desire to grow. When there is a desire there is a clinging. Growth is natural.
Have you been able to stop a child from growing? Have you ever stopped a plant
from blooming? So, why should you have a desire to grow? Why do you need to try?
When there is a DESIRE it is because of the existing thought pattern that makes
you believe that you are not worthy of this process of natural growth. You use
the same faulty implements.
Q: Sir, then I must not wish to grow?
There must be a will, not a clinging. Not ‘I want to grow’ but ‘I will’.
Open up the solar plexus chakra. When it is blocked it will not permit any
energy but its own negative energy to stay within. Do not WANT to grow.
Q: But must there not be a will to grow?
Your will is your stubbornness, it is not ‘will’.
Q: Sir, are not the heart and solar plexus chakras the north and south
polarities?
Of course. As the human race advances, it needs to go through a pathway of
natural growth. As the human race evolved so did the centers. Today the center
is the center of love; not a thinking of it but a genuine feeling.
Q: Sir, if the solar plexus is the center, won’t the heart chakra be
automatically open too?
Yes, but it functions only as a channel of energy, not as a center. It is
important to be SELF CENTERED. When you work from the heart there is no
happiness, there is no unhappiness. There is only JOY. That is another word
whose meaning you have never experienced. The state of joy is the most difficult
to attain and yet it is the only state there really is, it is the only reality.
It is only when you recognize your pain as an illusion will you be ready to dive
into that pool.
How does one treat a patient who is depressed? The medical faculty has the ready
answer of drugs. What do the drugs do? They facilitate the introduction of a new
electrical impulse within your brain; therefore your thoughts can move along a
new pathway. But, when the medical faculty is successful at this, it does not
look beyond its illusory success. As soon as the chemical introduction is
stopped, the old thought patterns resurface. Drugs, in a limited and regulated
manner, are fine. But there must be a spiritual learning imparted,
simultaneously, because it is only this that will keep the new pathway open, and
bring on the healing. Without this guidance no one can come out of a depression.
They only appear to do so. The mind soon learns to use the new pathway to its
own advantage.
Q: How do you release the old thought pattern of fear?
It is very difficult to do so. We repeat what we have said earlier. Make your
mind your friend. Assure your mind that you need it, that it is a part of you
which you never want to do without. Ask it help you. Insist upon becoming the
master again.
This does not happen overnight. It happens after many incarnations. But what you
start in this incarnation will continue in the next.
You have to be completely assured that the comfort of the pool is illusory, but
the pool is not fearful. It will not drown you unless you give it the power to
do so.
As healers, if you know someone who is depressed take him through this exercise.
Ask him to NAME the pool. Allow him to claw the walls, so that he experiences
that there is no exit there. If you do this continuously, one day he will dive
into that pool and come out of it anew. You can all do this yourselves.
Depression does not go on and on. It comes in phases. And each one of you has
gone through it. Its first external manifestation comes out from your mouth when
you say ‘ I do not want to do anything’ or ‘ I am blue’. Do you know why
you feel blue? What is the colour of this chakra? (pointed to the third eye)
Yes, a very deep and dark blue. When this (solar plexus) chakra takes over
completely, this (third eye) gets closed. The heart chakra has to work very hard
to make you feel this vital colour, so that a balance is maintained. So you feel
blue. And it is the first sign of self-indulgence.
Q: Sir, how does one deal with fear?
Fear is merely not being able to look into the unknown. When you center in the
heart you can look into anything and KNOW it. But, when you cannot analyze or
reason or understand with the solar plexus chakra, there is fear. Fear is
another word for what is not unknown. That is why you fear your pain. You have
not experienced it. You have only thought of its depth, its expanse. You THINK,
and then you get depressed.
Q: How do your thoughts cause hurt to another person who may be miles away?
