Ellaeenah:

I’m holding within me the energies of Ma Saraswati. I will invite questions and then answer them.

What is the significance of prayers when we do not understand what we are praying? Won’t a single word like Om take care of it?

Any word can ‘take care of it’, as you say, Minoo. Whether you understand the words or do not understand the words is rather insignificant. In that sense, do you truly understand the word Om? But you have placed your focus upon this word in such a manner, that now for you, the Om is a word of power, the Om is a word of the universe. But for all you know, it may not be at all. What if I were to tell you that just as easily as someone coined the word Om, let’s say they could have coined the word ‘La-la-la’. If you had placed your full focus, your power, into the word ‘la-la-la’, it would have been as powerful as the word Om. So if you need to pray something, which you do not understand the meaning of, that is not important at all. The energy of a prayer, the Spirit of a prayer, is not in its word; the words are only a physical manifestation of the spirit carried on that word. Whether you understand that word or not then is of no significance. It is important to acknowledge that that structure of the word, for e.g. the word Yatha Ahu Vairyo: you do not know its meaning but if you can acknowledge that in this structure Yatha Ahu Vairyo, in this structure, in this intonation, in this coming together of certain sounds, Spirit is being manifest tangibly, then you will be able to empower those words, that structure, with the power of Spirit that comes through you, and it is that which makes it a prayer.

If I were to sing ‘Doe a deer’ every day, which is an almost meaningless song sung for children, but do this with the full conscious awareness of my Spirit Beingness, I will empower Doe A Deer and make it into a prayer, and then every time I sing ‘Doe A Deer’, not when you sing it, every time I sing it, I will be praying.

And what is the process of praying? Praying is the process of releasing Spirit Beingness into the world around you. So I would be doing exactly that when I would sing ‘doe a deer’. All of my power of my Spirit Beingness that I have now held within that ‘doe a deer’, when I would sing it, I would release it to the world, thereby empowering the universe to use my power for whatever it desires. But because I have prayed it, the first task that the universe will use it for, will be for me and then for all else.

How did Gautama Buddha get enlightenment in such a quick and easy way that he could even count the atoms in the body?

First of all, his enlightenment was not only in that incarnation. The Gautama Buddha was completely enlightened. Some times it happens that enlightenment of the spiritual bodies, mental and emotional are completed, and a small part of the physical body cells, atoms, need to be enlightened. In most cases, what happens is that enlightenment floods all the auric fields simultaneously, but sometimes it happens that the spirit body, mental body, emotional body are completely enlightened: Spirit filled. That was the case with the Gautama Buddha. He, therefore, knowing this, took physical embodiment to facilitate spirit-filled physical enlightenment. But that was only a very miniscule part that required it and therefore, it seemed that just a few years under a tree did the trick. But it wasn’t a few years under the tree that did the trick. The few years were spent in surrender, were spent in awareness that a few parts of the physical have to be surrendered to Spirit. The few years were spent in that conscious awareness. When that happened, the physical was as completely enlightened as the others, and he became the Buddha. That was his process.

Is it a sin to swear?

I remember, I think, St. Germain had spoken on this. A ‘swear word’…. it’s interesting (I’m going to go beyond what St. Germain had said). If you all remember, St. Germain had said that every generation must be given its freedom to have its chosen swear word. Let us understand swear words and what they do and why they have been considered having an ill or a harmful effect to the energy structure. Your answer, in fact, is closely related to the earlier question.

If, at present, I completely trained my brain waves, thought processes, belief patterns and my attitude to consider OM as a swear word, every time I would use the word OM, it would release that energy into my energy structure. The energy of the word itself is not harmful, but I have stored in that word, my energy, my energy of it being abusive, my energy of it being negative, my energy of it being hurtful or harmful, and so whenever I will use that word, it will release my energy into the universe. Like any other word that we use, what you have focused and stored into that word is released, but because you have put in the power into the word, it is first released into your energy field, and then released outwardly. So you see what I put in will be released. I may use, let’s say, a swear word like ‘bloody’ or ‘damn’ without having empowered that word with the power of abuse, even though to someone else it might seem objectionable. For me, though, it may have as much casual energy in it as the word ‘the’ if I have not empowered that word with either negative or positive connotations. It is completely neutral in its power, because I have made it neutral. So if I use that word ‘bloody’ without any empowerment, positive or negative, it will have no effect upon my energy field.

Now this is interesting because it goes a little beyond the prayer answer. The word ‘bloody’ for me may not have any energy because I may not have empowered it so, but if A has empowered the word ‘bloody’ with her energy of abuse, or of some kind of judgment, when she hears that word its energy will be released into her energy field, as per her direction. That is why when spiritual teachers teach you or ask you not to use words that are words of abuse, it is from no moral judgment ground. It is from that complete awareness that the social conditioning of the word will have automatically made you ‘empower’ that word as being abusive, so every time you will use it, you will release that into your energy field and into the energy fields of those who have heard it and empowered it in the same manner.

Can you call it intents?

You can call it intent if you want, but the truth is the empowering of the word. The ‘word’ is just a structure of sound, and sound is given direction and focus by your empowerment.

Praying to ‘God’ implies duality, an ignorance of UNITY. If one remembers I AM then there would be no need for prayer. If you truly remembered you would then be invoking sound for its true purpose. The purpose of sound is to empower, to facilitate certain things to come into BEING. When you are praying to God, though it is out of a sense of ‘duality’, understand that it is what is needed to be experienced; what is really taking place is that the energy of sound is being used to facilitate something. Once you overcome the duality, you won’t use sound differently; you will just be conscious of what you are doing.

I have a question on the beej mantras and how do we use it in connection with the Shree Yantra?

Beej mantras are a bringing together of sound in a manner that is very, very powerful. When one uses this, it is not only for the Shree Yantra. The Shree Yantra is a sacred geometry so powerful that it can create out of No-Thingness. It creates Space; it creates Time; it creates Beyond Space and beyond Time. The beej mantras are not only related to the Shree Yantra but when used along with the Shree Yantra, the combination of the power of Sound and the power of Sacred Geometry come together for almost instantaneous manifestation on a very large universal scale. When sounds like these have to be used with geometries like these, they have to be done in perfect precision. The beej mantras must be intoned in a certain manner so that they release only that energy of sound that is needed for the Shree Yantra to be activated in a manner that is your desire. If you are using two such powerful storehouses of energy, you must be extremely careful; it might be better if you used one storehouse of energy separately and the other storehouse separately.

Do we need a ‘physical’ Yantra?

Not at all! In fact, to make that physical Yantra again requires that highest level of perfection. Unless you are absolutely sure that the physical representation of the Yantra is perfect, as per the sacred geometry, it would be better not to use it.

Can we ‘visualize’ it?

Absolutely… but before you visualize the yantra, I’m going to invite you to get into such an expanded state of awareness that the Yantra which appears even in your inner vision will be perfect sacred geometry.

I want to know what Red Light is. Someone mentioned it to me and said that only they could use it, and none other.

First of all, I’m sure they were talking of Red Light as a modified Light, which they have learnt, whoever they were, to use in a certain manner. Any light that takes on colour is Modified Light. For you, I’m going to answer in a slightly more detailed manner. There is No-Light which modifies itself into Light, which further modifies itself into the Physical Light, which further modifies itself into Colour; they are all modifications. So ‘colour’, as we know it, is a modification of the Physical Light.

As soon as it is modified into colour, instantly that colour begins to work on two levels simultaneously. Each colour has a Universal Purpose for which it works, and that is why, very often, when we close our eyes in meditation we see colours which we know we have not seen before. But they do exist; they just cannot be seen by the conscious vision but can be seen in meditation because the conscious vision is then expanded to include their spectrum. Secondly, it works on the level you desire it to work. Let’s take the example of Red Light because you have inquired about it. I am absolutely certain that what they called Red Light was not just a pure red colour, but a further modification of Red Light, which ‘they’ have now focused upon in a certain manner, and that is why they say only they can use it… because they have modified it for their purpose by their focus.

For any other who have not modified it in this manner, it would not serve that same purpose, but would work according to their own unique ‘focus’. If I would talk to you of red light, almost instantly you would begin to think of your chakric system, and you would begin to think of the root chakra. Right? Now, why would that instant association of red light come about? Because all of us, as a human race, have focused upon the red light in this manner.

Now if you were a healer, and were using the red light, upon me, who came to you as a patient, you would use that red light in two ways: you would first study my chakric system and in your conditioned but aware and expanded Mind, you would have a focus of a particular hue of red signifing over-activity of the chakra, another hue of red signifing under-activity of the chakra and a 3rd hue of red signifing no activity in the chakra. You would, therefore, be invoking the Universal Red Light to work with you in a manner you would be able to recognize. Once that recognition was made, you would invoke the Universal Red Light to work with you to heal either the over-activity, inactivity or under-activity.

This is how at all levels, all of us use different colour. That is why, very often, some of us don’t wear a certain colour. I, personally, do not like the colour brown, although I’m wearing it today. For me, the colour brown spells sluggishness. Now when I wore this colour brown today, I consciously made an intent; which means I empowered the colour brown for a temporary period not to be sluggish, but to aid me in expansion. If you are aware of how you have empowered colours, then when you do wear them, if you wish to change that empowerment, you can do so instantly.

I want to know about Merkaba (..) and astral travel.

The merkaba is nothing else but two similar sacred geometries coming together and merging; two tetrahedrons that come together and merge in a completely synchronized way to facilitate each one’s spinning. Contrary to what most think, the two tetrahedrons do not spin in the same direction: one spins anti-clockwise, the other spins clockwise. The tetrahedrons of the merkaba each hold male energy and female energy; not male and female, as we see it, as physical energy, but the Divine Mother, the Divine Father, if that is what you wish to call it. In our universe, because it is a universe of duality, the two tetrahedrons spin clockwise-anticlockwise in opposing directions, thus releasing Unified Energy. When it is released, the energy is neither male nor female.

In it’s astral travel because of its Unified Energy, it enables the Spirit that is embodied to then release itself from the duality of male and female, and to travel astrally, as ours is the only ‘space’ in the universe where duality can function. The merkaba spinning enables the Spirit embodied in this dual sphere to get the empowerment of unified energy, for a temporary period of time. This energy, in its ‘unity’ carries the greatest strength of No-Energy, and thus enables astral travel into areas where there is no duality, where duality cannot function.

The Buddhist chants… do they really work or are they only optimistic thinking?

It’s what you make of it. You can chant till kingdom come…. and KINGDOM will never come. But if you know, if you believe, if you ARE the chant, you need not chant for more than a few moments, and it will be a rich source of your empowerment. It’s what you believe. Nothing that I can tell you can ever validate or take away from your truth. You must adhere to your truth and if your truth is that it is only optimistic thinking, do not ever chant again because when you chant with the belief that is only optimistic thinking, you release a great energy of that which we call disrespect; the words then have those energies of disrespect which will work first upon you, more powerfully than the others it will be released to subsequently.

I know Shivratri is tonight and that you can conquer the mind greatly by the power of this night. Please can you help me by telling me more about this?

Would you like to know how to conquer the mind or do you just want to know about Shivratri?

I want to know how you can use it to conquer the mind.

Then I will take you through a small exercise right now.

I’m going to ask you now to begin connecting your charkas. Connect your crown to your root and bring it to your heart. Please understand that this will take a little longer than what I’m taking right now. Connect the 3rd eye to the hara; bring it up to the heart. Connect the throat to the solar plexus and bring it up to the heart. Pull the entire chakric system that now resides in your heart; pull it upwards, completely out of your crown, and allowing it to reside in the upper chakric system. This step must be done slowly and certainly. Surrender the physical chakric system to the higher chakric system and let the higher chakric system need do whatever it needs to, with your physical chakric system. Do not hold on to it. Do not pay attention to it.

Now turn your full focus to a Shiva Lingam which already resides within your root chakra. It is an etheric lingam which resides in each one of us. The kundalini that we talk of, is nothing else but the power of the lingam that is released. Turn your full focus to the etheric Shiva Lingam and by using any chant, any word, any thought, any colour, whatever you have empowered, use that thought, word, colour, chant, prayer, to release the Shiva Lingam’s energy. You will feel the lingam’s power shooting through you. Continue releasing it. Do not direct the Lingam’s power to do anything. It knows what needs to be done. You will need to sit with this Lingam’s power being released into you for several moments.

When there comes a stage of some sort of tiredness or exhaustion, you will know that you’ve had enough. Consciously move the energy back into the Shiva Lingam. Please do not forget to invoke your gratitude. Get your chakric system back into your heart. Release your charkas and see them gently go back into their correct places. Open your eyes, with deep gratitude to yourself. Why to yourself? Because you have acknowledged that it is within you that you hold the Power to cleanse, to purify, to clear, to expand anything that you need. You have used your powers.

Let me briefly touch upon why this night: When the Mahashivratri festival was first celebrated, it was done with deep awareness of the astrological structure of the universe at that time: the planets, the stars, the asteroids, and it was chosen as that moment, as that period in time that would best facilitate clearance and purification. The universe is splendid. It knows that the greatest effect of duality is denseness, ‘blocked energies’ because energies cannot flow as smoothly as they do in Unity, and the universe gives within each dual structured body its own tool to clear this. At a time in history when people were not aware of what to do and when to do it, sages who were in complete touch with the universe and with its movements and rotations and revolutions, would choose certain days, certain times, certain periods. But one has to understand that now that astrological structure has changed.

The power of the night in this NOW does not come from the astrological positioning but from our BELIEF. Now the night of Mahashivratri is so strong because we have made it so. You can now use the power of the conditioned mind to empower what you need to do. But this exercise need not only be done on the night of Mahashivratri. It will work in an extremely intense manner, on this night, for those who have full belief in this night, but for all others it can work equally powerfully any time that you direct it to.

Thank you.

Zafar:

I am in very light link with the energies of Buddha, and will use my own words to convey what is needed today.

What is happiness and what is this pursuit of happiness that everyone endures, day after day, for our whole lives? Happiness is the purpose of life. If you look at it, happiness is the only purpose of life, but it does not come easy; it has to be worked on, consistently and constantly, day after day. Every day, we are bombarded with images, with instances of what true happiness should be: our advertisements do it all the time: true happiness is a fantastic body, having this mobile phone, having a happy family, your money in this fund or that fund or rightly invested and you see all these happy-go-lucky people on television. I’m using television because it is a medium, which all of us refer to, all the time, every day for most of us. So there is always this search for happiness outside.

The Buddha would like to explain happiness very simply: break it down to two types of happiness: there is Relative Happiness, which is happiness we experience in lots of things in life. It is one version of happiness, for e.g. I pass my exams with flying colours and I’m happy; I fall in love with someone, I’m happy; I reach work on time, even though I left very late, I feel a sense of happiness. These are all versions of happiness and they are ‘true’ in their form but they are all relative to the event that has taken place or will take place.

Then there is Absolute Happiness, and absolute happiness equals Nirvana; equals Buddha-hood. Absolute happiness is happiness to which there are NO circumstances attached. Let me say that sentence again: circumstances have no bearing on happiness. Let that mull and let that ruminate in your head for a second. Circumstances have no bearing on happiness. We’ve seen people who live in poverty among the affluent societies and they are as happy as you and I could possibly want to be. I know, personally, people who are very affluent, abundant in all regards and respects, who go through hell.

There are seven stages to happiness: hell, as we know hell to be, animalism, greed, anger, relative happiness, humanity, Bodhistava and the Buddha-hood. Relative happiness is even lower than humanity. It is the nature of humanity not to be relatively happy. It is human nature to be consistently, constantly happy. It’s very important for us to know that you and I are ‘deluded’ and the acknowledgement of this is very important. There is a ‘delusion’ that we put ourselves through, which is 90% of the blockage to achieving Buddha-hood. Lose the delusion completely and you have only your purpose in front of you, which will become so clear and so reachable that you will be able to accomplish it in one lifetime itself, if you can reach that level. That is what Nargis said about the Buddha and how is it that he reached that level so fast? He went through that 90%, for many lifetimes, till he became completely devoid of relative happiness.

Are problems part and parcel of the ‘Buddha’ life? Of course they are! Problems will always be there and you cannot live in this dual reality, in this dual world, without problems. First and foremost, accept that…. to live in a space where you have issues and problems, where you might lose your job or you might lose a loved one; your spouse may pass away …but might is a wrong word I am using… will: you will eventually lose your job to something else; you will die. If these things cause you pain, then you are again deluded.

What do you man by being deluded? Do circumstances have no bearing on true happiness? The way I see it is that most of us get caught in circumstances making us happy all the time (..).Is JOY absolute happiness?

This is a term that is used here because there is no better term; you can call it ‘joy’ or ‘ecstasy’, if you’d like to. I said happiness equals Nirvana; whatever Nirvana is for you would be absolute happiness. What did I mean by deluded? The minute you try to seek ecstasy, joy, happiness outside of yourself, you are deluded. That’s a simple definition. Again, I go back to the television reference: we are always looking and saying, "I want to achieve this. I want to pursue this." And that pursuit is in vain because you will never be that fantastic body or have that face, in this lifetime. When you come to realize that eventually, in the larger picture, (and we’ve said this time and time again) that IS ‘you’. What, then, am I trying to achieve? What pursuit am I in? I’m running like a mouse after my own tail. And that is delusion; that is the search outside.

Circumstances have no bearing on absolute happiness. Ask yourself this: you are in an airplane. Both the engines have fallen off. The plane is diving down, into the ground. Would you be happy? No, you wouldn’t be, but the Buddha…. for him, it doesn’t make a difference whether he’s on a plane that is crashing or whether he is sipping pinacoladas on the beach. It’s the same thing; it’s just circumstances.

Would you then say that happiness is a state of mind?

The energies have left now, so I will personally endeavour to answer your question.

Happiness is mindless. State of mind is a term used very loosely. When you’re completely out of your mind, that’s when I believe you’re happy. From my experience, when I am in a complete full trance, I’m in bliss because I’m completely ‘gone’ and there is nothing for me to worry about; I have no issues, no stress, no tension, the Masters are doing their job, I’m just there being their vehicle. I’m just enjoying every instant, every moment of that experience. It’s the closest that I can get to God.

Ellaeenah:

May I just add to this? Happiness is a state of mind: if we take that as your truth, let’s expand on that. If I am in my lower conscious mind, then all that my lower conscious mind focuses on makes me happy. If I am at a state of a higher conscious mind, I will experience happiness of everything that is lower conscious coming up to that stage of higher conscious. The moment my Raja Yogic Power takes me and merges with my Divine Mind, then I am happy with lower conscious, higher conscious and everything that is Divine Mind. So happiness IS a state of mind; it just depends upon how expanded is mind; which stage of Raja Yoga you are on.

Channeling through Sohrab:

Meher Baba

The chanting of the 5 Om’s was a little illusion that this child required to give him the feeling of being connected, when he knew very well that he was already connected and did not require them. However, he has had his fun.

Good morning, friends!

Good afternoon!

Ah! So there is one group here who says, "Who is this peculiar Master who does not know the time of day?" There is another group here who says, "Ah! The medium’s mind has come in. He has made a mistake." And there is yet a 3rd group who says, "Oh! This Master is so expanded. Where he is, it is morning at all times." Which group do you belong to? (Laughter)

For the next few sessions, we will channel a series of short spiritual games for this group. Each time the session will end with a game. What you make of it is your truth. Who knows? Maybe it is all an illusion.

Choose a partner. You do not have to change your chairs around; just choose a person near you. You may move if you wish. You may sit apart if you wish. You just need to be able to see your partner.

One person kindly close your eyes and be the receiver. The other will be the visualizer. Receivers kindly go to sleep (laughter). Enjoy the energies in this room; enjoy the energies of your friends; enjoy the energies of the Masters who you, in your illusion, think are here (laughter). Visualizers, look at your friend; actually physically look at your friend. Examine their features as you see them right now. Slowly allow these features to blur and you will begin to see another face in the familiar face. Yes, it may even change sex. It may change skin tone. It may become an alien. As you see the other person change, allow any information to be given to you. Who is that person you are now seeing? If they are human, what is their profession? If they are not human, who are they? Now allow a character trait to emerge from that person, one that you are not familiar with, in your partner. Now allow an age to emerge. How old is the person? Now allow a profession and a branch of science to emerge from that person. Now start looking at your friend, once again, as you know them, with features they have in this existence but yet continue to see them having a different profession, age, possibly sex, possibly different form with a great knowledge of a subject you had no idea was buried within them. Enjoy it. Enjoy it.

Now kindly change partners. Allow the receiver to become the giver. Remain in the same group; the other person, close your eyes. Close your eyes and simply enjoy the energies of this room. Visualizers, kindly look at them. Allow their features to blur. Allow a new form, face, sex to arise. Ask yourself instantly, who are they? What is their profession? Ask yourself instantly, what character trait does this person have that I never knew existed before? Ask them to reveal where they come from. Ask themselves to reveal any detail that has not been given to you before. Thank you. Kindly release the energies and return to full consciousness.

Over the course of the next few weeks, till the next session, allow yourselves to daydream of the partner that you saw and allow any more information to reveal itself to you. We will discuss this, at the next session, before we play the second game.

Good night! (Laughter)

Blessings from Meher Baba!
